Lilly is our first English Cream Golden Retriever. After the passing of our American Golden Retriever "George," we were looking for a second dog. I've always loved white/cream-colored dogs and decided an English Golden Retriever would be great with our family as well as with our older German shepherd. We found a wonderful woman who bred quality English Cream Goldens about 4 hours away. We went out to meet Lilly one evening and immediately fell in love with her. She is the sweetest dog we've ever met. Of course, being her owners, we are biased, but we are told this frequently by others as well. I am often stopped while walking her and asked what kind of dog she is and told how pretty she is. Lilly is smaller than Tyson. Her coat is light cream to cream, and she has long feathering. On the color scale, she is a 9 (see second dog from right in image at bottom of page) most of the time. She does get a little darker (maybe an 8, third dog from right) during winter months and now after having puppies and nursing. She has large, beautifully shaped, expressive dark eyes and a shorter (blunt) muzzle. Lilly earned her AKC Good Citizen Certificate when she was 9 months old. She is a quiet dog and rarely barks, except to put Tyson in his place if needed. She is very fast, light-footed and agile. She loves to play ball or just be near you. She is a sensitive dog and really aims to please. We are looking forward to doing some agility training with her in the future. All of Lilly's health clearances have been completed, passed and are up to date. OFA evaluated and certified her hips as Good and elbows as Normal at her 2-year-old milestone. She also completed/passed the cardiac and eye certifications (CERF at 2 and 3 years of age). |
